Project Overview

This document outlines the scope of work completed for the supply, installation, commissioning, and test running of two small generation units at the Ispay Hydropower Station (HPP) in Astore, Gilgit-Baltistan. This micro-hydropower project is essential for providing decentralized and reliable electricity to remote local communities in the region.

Installed Capacity

The project involved the installation of two micro-scale generation units:

  • Number of Units: 2

  • Unit Capacity: 0.2 MW (200 kW) each

  • Total Installed Capacity: 0.4 MW (400 kW)

The 0.4 MW capacity provides crucial local power, significantly benefiting the Ispay area and surrounding villages in the Astore region.

Scope of Work

The contractor, Mushtaq Ali Government Contractor Gilgit Baltistan, was responsible for the following comprehensive activities related to the 0.2  MW units:

  1. Supply: Procurement and delivery of all necessary mechanical, electrical, and civil components (including Turbine-Generator sets) for the two 0.2  MW hydropower units.

  2. Installation: Complete physical installation of the power generation equipment, control systems, and associated civil infrastructure.

  3. Commissioning: Detailed functional testing of all installed equipment and systems to ensure they operate according to design specifications and safety standards.

  4. Test Running: A sustained period of operational performance testing to confirm the units’ reliability and stable output capacity prior to final handover.
